Romantic stay at AquaLodge, along the Molignée
Eight stilted lodges, a terrace by the water, and the Molignée Valley: prepare for a romantic getaway for two near Maredsous.
In Ermeton-sur-Biert, in the Maredsous countryside, AquaLodge sets its wooden chalets above a chain of ponds. The place focuses on calm, privacy, and scenery rather than a packed schedule: an address designed for slowing down as a couple, with the Molignée Valley within walking distance.
A night above the water
The eight lodges are spread around the ponds and connected to the bank by walkways. Each has its own character: some favor a large terrace, others an adjoining lounge or a bathroom with a wooden bathtub. The choice should therefore not be limited to the chalet name.
Before booking, compare the orientation, bathroom layout, and the facilities actually included. The wood-burning stove, view, and layout may vary from one accommodation to another. The estate also states that minors and pets are not allowed for safety reasons related to the presence of water.

Frisson d’Eau, Songe des Étangs, Rêve du Nénuphar, or Secret de la Libellule: the names extend the estate’s universe, but the practical differences matter more. A wooden bathtub will suit a slow pause, while a shower or separate lounge may better match your habits.
La RouLodge du Veilleur offers a more compact take on the experience. Whatever the formula, look at the photographs and the specific accommodation sheet when booking: the availability of services and features may change.
Creating an evening without leaving the estate
Breakfast can be booked and delivered to the lodge. AquaLodge also offers several additional services, including meal packages, romantic touches, and in-chalet massages. They are not automatically included in the nightly rate.
To avoid surprises, confirm the ordering deadlines, what is included, any dietary requirements catered for, and the delivery time. A massage must also be booked in advance and remains subject to the practitioner’s availability.
Discovering the Molignée Valley
The stay can also serve as a starting point for exploring the region. The abbeys of Maredsous and Maredret, the villages of Sosoye and Falaën, the ruins of Montaigle, and the Molignée RAVeL are among the ideas highlighted by the estate.
The Molignée rail bikes offer a more active outing, while Château de Bioul provides a way to explore the local wine heritage. Timetables, bookings, and opening days vary by season: check each visit with its operator.
